From Jamestown to the Civil War

     Today we watched A video on Khan academy about US history. I learned that the French and they Indians fought the British for America.  The British won a great war. After the war they taxed the Americans to make up for the money lost in the war. The colonist did not like being taxed so the had the Boston tea party. That lead to the Declaration of Independence. Many years later they had the Louisiana purchase. Witch lead to the war of 1812 witch ended in 1815. Then the battle of New Orleans started. During the war Texas got there Independence. IN 1860 Abraham Lincoln was elected president. His goal was to stop slavery. That is when the Civil War started. It was the bloodiest war america has dealt with. Then the war ended with the south surrendering. Then Abraham wrote the emancipation proclamation. 18% white males from the south died.
